Christmas in Benton

On the Eve of Christmas Eve we spent Christmas in Benton with Jacob's dads family.  Oliver spent the day with his Gammy while Jacob and I went to work.  After work we stopped by the house to pick up somethings and headed to Benton.

When we got there Oliver was having a blast!!  Between climbing the stairs and playing with the big kids, Oliver was in heaven!

 Flying with Sam

Sarah Catherine and Oliver were attached at the hip for most of the night.  She loved playing with him and he loved all the attention.  It was so cute watching Oliver follow her everywhere.

Mommy's turn...

 He was being so silly

Sweet time with Gran

Time to eat...

Then it was time to let Oliver open his gifts so he could go to bed.

 Books from the Spohns!

Time for night night!!

After Oliver went to bed, all the kids opened their gifts and Gran passed out her little goodies to everyone.  All the adults gave gifts to Providence House instead of each other this year!!  We chatted with everyone for a while over yummy deserts and coffee.  It was a really nice evening with family!!

Oliver's School Christmas "Party"

Earlier this month Oliver's school had their class party.  It is not much of a party with a room full of one year olds, but they all looked cute!  Their Christmas party snack consisted of applesauce and cheetos!!  Oliver looked like he took a bath in applesauce.

Oliver did so well seating at the table with me in the room.  Last time once he saw me he did not want to sit at the table.

They look so grown up! So cute!!

Finally he decided it was time to get up and wander around while eating his cheetos!  We stayed for a bit longer and Gammy even stopped by to see him.

After the party I took Oliver home to stay with Jacob while I went back to work.  It is so fun to watch him interact with his school friends, and I can't wait for class parties that don't involve taking a bath in applesauce or hearing a room full of one year olds cry!! Ha

Merry Christmas from Oliver!!

Wow, Look at the Lights

Going to look at Christmas lights is always so much fun, and I couldn't wait to take Oliver this year.  Gammy and Paw joined us and we headed to Green Acres to see all the pretty lights.

 Almost there!

Oh Wow!!

Oliver enjoyed looking at the lights for about 5 minutes, and then all he wanted to do was be in the front seat to push all the buttons and drive the car.  He LOVES to pretend drive everything!!

So it was a short trip this year, but I am sure he will be more interested in the lights in the years to come!

Goodbye Christmas lights!!

Christmas Tree Time

Fa la la....it's Christmas time!!  This year we had a temporary tradition of going to Lowes to pick out a Christmas tree and then coming back to the house for some yummy taco soup!  This is the same thing we did last year and I really enjoy it, but there is a Christmas tree farm in Texas with lots of fun activities that will be an even better tradition for years to come.  I think next year will be the perfect year to make a day of it and Oliver should be at the age where he will be able to enjoy some of the activities they have.  We hope to be able to recruit a big group a friends and family to tag along too.

Back to this year though; we had a fun and quick trip to Lowes to pick out a tree.  Oliver, Gammy and I also went into the store to show Oliver all of the big blow ups they have.

All bundled up and ready to pick his tree!

Perfect

Our family 2011...

2010!!
It is so amazing to look back and see just how much our Oliver has grown!

After eating dinner daddy put up the tree and Oliver helped.

Like father like son!

Time for Christmas Pjs and lights!

And then comes decorating or playing in the box and throwing ornaments everywhere!

Piddles quickly found his favorite spot under the tree.  Oliver was looking at the tree and began to shake the tree and this is what happened to Mr. Piddles!

Oliver putting his ornament from his 1st Christmas on the tree.

Love his sweet little hands!!!!
