OH MY...where has September gone?!?! We have been busy little bees this month! Here is what we have been up to..............
Two weekends ago we went to Ruston for the Grand Opening of the new Delta Chi House. We left for Ruston after feeding Ollie lunch so that he could nap the whole way there. We arrived in Ruston around 12:30 and chatted with everyone. It was fun getting to show off Ollie and see people we haven't seen in a long time.

We took a tour around the house and Ollie had fun running in and out of all the rooms. Jacob did all of the granite work for the entire house and it all turned out really great!! Everyone liked it!
Shortly after we got there everyone headed outside for the "short and sweet" ribbon cutting ceremony. After about ten minutes in the sun Ollie and I moved to the shade and then about fifteen or twenty minutes later we had had enough and headed inside!!

Once the ceremony was FINALLY done lunch was served in their new chapter room. We got a bite to eat and headed out to take Ollie on campus.
Our first stop was the bookstore. We wanted to get Ollie some Tech gear. I was shocked to find that Barnes and Noble had come to campus!!!! The bookstore has had a complete makeover. We had so much fun looking at all the goodies.
Next we let Ollie meet the Lady of the Mist. He loved her so much that he really wanted to join her! Ha!

Once we were finally able to get him up we wondered around campus a little longer before heading back to the house.
It was such a gorgeous day on campus!
WOW how things have changed!! I walked this path so many times and NONE of this was there! It was gravel parking lots and crappy houses! It is very bittersweet!
We had a great time in Ruston and hope to go back very soon and take Ollie to his first Tech game. I am glad that we got some cute pictures of him on campus. They will be cute to look back on especially if he were to become a bulldog!
The week of the 12th-16th I took a class to become an Accredited Residential Manger. I spent Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 in a lecture class!! That was really rough! I then had a test on Saturday and now I patiently wait for the results to come in the mail!!!
Fingers crossed that I passed!!!!
In other big Doyle news....We have a COACH in the house!! Woohoo Jacob is now the coach for Magnet's Lacrosse team!! Ollie and I are so proud of him and we can't wait to help cheer on the team!!

Now on to the star of the blog!
As you know Ollie has started "school" and it has been the hardest thing ever!! He has had a runny nose since day one and I don't think he has attended one full week of school yet. I never imagined it would be this hard. Sometimes I don't think that we are cut out for this, but I keep trying to have faith and give it some time.
The hardest part of course has been the sickness. Sometimes I feel life were are paying A LOT of money just to build up his immune system. I know I know that is not all but that is just how I feel sometimes.
The most recent bout of sickness happened this past Thursday when we got the phone call saying that they believed he had hand, foot and mouth disease!! On my way to pick him up I called the Dr and got an appointment scheduled for the next day at 8:30.
We also had an appointment with the allergist at 9:45 so it was going to be an eventful day. The Dr confirmed that he had hand, foot and mouth. He also said that he thought the rash around his was impetigo. When he checked Ollie's mouth he saw some blisters at the back of his throat and to top it all off he said he had an ear infection!!! Have I mentioned that we love "school"!!!!!!!!! The Dr sent us home with some antibiotics.
Then we headed to our next appointment with the allergist. Dr. Whited confirmed everything that the Dr had just told us and also recommended that we bath in in baking soda to help his skin. Other than that everything else was good.
After we are done with the medicine and he is completely healthy again we are headed straight for the Dr to get him a flu shot!!! I don't want those snotty nosed kids giving him the flu too!
He is such a trooper!!
