Easter 2012: My Redeemer Lives!

We had a wonderful Easter this year.  We went to the early service at church, which has been working really well for us unitl recently.  Unfortunately Oliver didn't want to sit in church, so I took him to the play room until church was over.

After church we came home to see what goodies the Easter bunny had brought us.

I got two new books, Jacob got some new shirts from you guessed it The Banana and Oliver got a basket filled with fun stuff.

Oliver's main excitement was the grass in the basket.  He wanted the cats to chase him around the house with      it.

Looking at his new books!

We had plans to go to lunch at Marylin's after the rest of the family got out of church.  Lunch was going to interept nap time so we were getting prepared for that and keeping Oliver entertained until then.  So we decided it was time for an Easter egg hunt in the front yard.

They had had an Easter egg hunt at "school" so he knew that there was candy in the eggs.  Everytime he got an egg he had to stop and open it and try to eat the candy!  I of course was not going to let him eat all of it, so I kept a package of smarties in my hand to give him in case he came across something I didn't want him to eat.

Wow! An egg all the way up in the tree!!

Got it!!

Yum, M&M's!!

So precious!!

All done!

Oh look, Mom I forgot some!!

Time for some Smarties.

He doesn't like Peeps....He is our child! Ha

Mommy time!

My sweet boy began to get sleepy, so off to the park we went!

LOVE THEM!!

Look at me!!

Music time!!

Look Mom here I come!

After the park we headed to eat lunch with the family.  Oliver did well for the most part but we did have to leave early.

Opening his Easter egg from Auntie M

Our Easter was great and I am truly thankful for the sacrifice that was made for us on the cross!  How lucky we all are to be able to celebrate his life, death and resurrection!!  I can't wait until next year when Oliver will be older and he will be able to begin to learn what Easter is all about.
