A First, a Second and a Reunion

Oliver was born on Memorial Day 2010, which was of course May 31st.  This year Memorial Day fell on May 30th.  So it was Ollie's first May 30th but second Memorial Day.  I received a few texts and phone calls wishing Ollie a happy birthday on this years Memorial Day which was funny.


For this years Memorial Day we decided to keep it low key and take Ollie swimming at his Aunt's house and cookout with the family.

Ollie enjoyed swimming and was not at all scared of the water.   He just lounged in his baby boat and floated around the pool while we served him food....THE LIFE!!

It was so nice to spend a relaxing day around family.

This past Saturday we headed to Lillie, LA for a family reunion.  Lillie is about an hour and a half away from Shreveport.  I had the pleasure of driving through the small town of Lillie a few years back when I was in college.  Kelly, my roommate, at the time had had a PUH kind of day and wanted to go for a cruise and blast the music.  Well just as we entered the town of Lillie we got pulled over for speeding!  Puh Puh Puh!!!  So we've met! HA

Back to the reunion, we left Shreveport around 9:30 so that we could get there and visit for a bit and leave after lunch so Ollie would not miss his nap.  Although it was a really hot day they had plenty of fans going around the tent, a pool for the kids and Ollie and I sat in the house for a bit to cool off.

I had been to this reunion once before but it was several years ago so although I saw familiar faces I didn't know any names.  Thank goodness for name tags!!  Ollie did really well and everyone thought was a precious... of course!!
