A Year Ago Today...

Wow, where does the time go?  Hard to believe that ONE year ago today Jacob and I were in the hospital with all our friends and family welcoming Oliver into this big world!!!

It is true when people tell you that you soon forget just how tiny and precious they were as a baby.  Oliver was such an amazing baby.  He rarely ever cried and it seems like he slept well from day one!  We are so truly blessed to have such a wonderful little boy in our lives.  It is amazing to see just how much they grow and learn in one year.  Ollie's personality has blossomed and well...of course he is a GENIUS!! HA

Then in the blink of an eye this little baby becomes....

This morning for Ollie's first birthday I let him wear his birthday party outfit again and managed to get one picture before he was off to Gammys.

 We decided to take Ollie out to eat for his 1st birthday dinner.  We went to Macaroni Grill and Ollie had bread, spaghetti and meatballs and Cheerios of course!

After dinner we headed home for a cake party and more presents...

Oliver James Doyle I am so overcome with all the love and joy that is being your Mom.  It has been the greatest gift in my life to have you as my beautiful son.  I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!

A Beautiful Sunday

During church the men always lead the singing and yesterday Jacob lead the first 3 songs. Jacob's mom always holds Ollie and tries to teach him to lead the songs.  Yesterday during the first song as Ollie was in his Grammy's lap watching his dad he began waving his arms and leading the song along with Jacob!! It was so precious and everyone was smiling and watching him!!  LOVE IT!!!

After church we went home so Ollie could take a nap and we could continue to clean up after THE BIRTHDAY PARTY OF THE YEAR (Birthday party blog coming SOON)!!

After Ollie woke up we ran some errands to prepare for a pool party on Memorial Day. On the way home Jacob decided he wanted to go out on the boat that evening.  So we went home and got all of our stuff ready and waited for it to cool off a bit.  While we waited I decided that we should have a POPSICLE PARTY!!! This was Ollie's first of many popsicle parties.  I think he is a fan!!

Then it was time to head off to the lake for a nice ride in the boat....

....NOT!!! 

When Paw got to the dock with the boat and lifted up the seat to get the anchor he found a SNAKE!!!  He JUMPED and of course the snake ran and hid.  After almost two hours, a shovel, a rake, a couple of pokers, a fire extinguisher and two brave/scared men we gave up on catching the snake!!

Although it was now an hour past Ollie's bedtime he did really well and he managed to find a few things to do...
