Trick or Treat

This was Oliver's very first year to trick or treat.  Last year he was only 5 months old so we had a big party at the house instead.  Since we are still new to the trick or treating we decided to go to a few houses on our street and then go visit one of Oliver's favorite people.

My two golfers!

Walking the neighborhood in style

Stopping to chat with B the ninja

Once we were done with the neighborhood it was time to head to Gran Jan's house.  Oliver absolutely adores her and he acts like an angel for her!  It is so sweet to see.

 Loving on his Gran....

and then true to "the schedule" he was done and ready for bed...

A look back at my sweet Oliver last BOO day....

So tiny and precious!!!

Happy Happy BOO Day!!

Shine On!

This year was Oliver's second time to go to Pumpkin Shine on Line!!  Tony and B tagged along with us and it was their very first time to go.

Sneaking in through the "secret entrance"

Oliver loved the penguins

He wanted to take the stuffed animal head off...opps!

Playing with Dad as we said goodbye until next year!

Bye Bye

We had so much fun and he did really well looking at all the pumpkins.  Even better we got home just in time for bed!! Schedule, schedule, schedule!!!! HA!

Revel 2011

Oliver got to go to the Red River Revel twice this year.  The first time we decided to go was the first weekend it was open.  We had planned to get there when it might be a little less busy, but that didn't happen. It was packed and hot!!  There was no place to sit and enjoy anything and Oliver really doesn't like to chill in his stroller.  All this makes for a very unhappy trio; so we decided to take Oliver to the riverfront stage so he could stretch his legs and see the water.

He really enjoyed watching the waterfall, but he had no interest in touching the water.  He was doing so well and not running and THEN he happened to trip and fell face first right onto a huge rock!!  We freaked and Oliver immediately started to cry.  Jacob picked him up and the blood was running out of his mouth.  We were so worried that he had really hurt himself!!

He stopped crying pretty quickly, but would not let us look in his mouth.  We decided that we were definitely done for the day and headed back to the car.  When we got to the car we managed to check us mouth for a split second.  He wasn't missing any teeth and appeared to only have busted his lip really bad.

These are the pictures before the BIG fall....

When he woke up the next morning his mouth was swollen and he had a cut on the outside of his mouth!! The swelling was gone by the following morning.  The first of many bumps and bruises for a BOY!

For our second trip to the Revel we decided to take a half a day off from work and go during the week.  We picked Oliver up from school early and headed to the Revel during the "quiet hours".

First we stopped by the Lacrosse booth to say hi and then settled in with some yummy nachos.  Oliver nibbled on some chips and wandered around being silly.

Then we decided to go back down to the kids area before it got to crowded.  I was excited for Oliver to go "grocery shopping" at Brookshires!!  That was always my very favorite thing to do at the Revel.  Its like a mini SuperMarket Sweep!!! (loved that show)

He did really well with picking stuff up and throwing it in his buggy.  He also liked to try and bring me some of his items too.  It was so cute and then he just decided he was done and ran to me and left Jacob to "checkout"!

We hung out for a little bit longer but then it began to get hot and crowded again and Oliver was getting fussy.  So we decided that the Revel 2011 was over for the Doyle's.

PUH....

It all started this Thursday morning when I decided to stop by Starbucks on my way downtown to a meeting.  On my way there Tracey called to see if I would get her a drink and a blueberry muffin for a coworkers Birthday.  As I drove to Starbucks I was thinking to myself how I was going to carry everything to my car and then upstairs to our downtown office.

I got to the 90210 Starbucks (aka Line Ave) and ordered everything I grabbed a cup holder tray thing to put both drinks and the muffin in.  As soon as I opened the door to my car and leaned over to set the tray on my center console the entire tray fell into my DRIVERS SIDE SEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!  I couldn't do anything but watch the yummy Starbucks drinks drain from my front seat to my back seat floor board!  I had no clue how I was going to clean it up and there was no way I could sit on my seat in my nice clothes and drive to my meeting. Then I thought to check in the trunk for a towel or sheet to wipe everything up, but NO such luck!  Thankfully for Oliver's survival kit I made when he started "school" there was a package of wipes in the kit!! Woohoo!

I climbed into the passenger seat and began to wipe down my seat, my COACH purse and my BELOVED life planner (more on my new obsession with my life planner later)!! One package of wipes later and my seat was some what clean but wet.  I found Oliver's life jacket in the truck and used it to sit on as I drove to my meeting.  I got there on time and with the blueberry muffin intact.

After the meeting I headed to my office to work and find a place to get my car cleaned.  I left my office for lunch and passed two cop cars on the median of Youree and Bert Kouns.  As I made my way pass the two cop cars, one pulled out going my direction!!!!!  I immediately thought he saw that my inspection sticker was expired.  One light and a few cars later he was behind ME with his lights on.  I pulled into the Lowes parking lot ready for my ticket for my inspection sticker, and when the cop got to my window he said......Mam have you ever been pulled over for your.......

WINDOW TINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!?  I have had this car for THREE years and have never been pulled over for my tint!!!!!!!!!  I informed the cop that I bought the car with this tint and that no one has ever pulled me over for my tint and I no nothing about WINDOW TINT!!!!

He put his handy dandy thingy on my window to show me how illegal my tint was and then asked me if I knew that my inspection sticker was out!?!?!? REALLY?!?!  Is this necessary??  Shouldn't you be catching criminals?!?!

He went to his car to run all my info and then came back to generously give me a ticket for an expired inspection sticker and my window tint!!!!!!!!!!  I was so mad!!!

Oliver reading Mommy's ticket!

I have so many other more IMPORTANT things to worry about than an inspection sticker and window tint!!

I have never gotten a ticket but there is truly a first time for everything!!!

It was such a crappy day, but I tried to keep telling myself to not sweat the small stuff and that I am truly BLESSED!!!
It doesn't get better than this...
