Attack of the cradle cap!

As you know we started Oliver on rice cereal a couple of weeks ago and shortly after that his head broke out.  So we stopped feeding him cereal to see if the rash would go away.  A week went by and there was still an icky looking rash on Oliver's head so I called Dr Haynes yesterday and she said to bring him in the next morning.  I began to do a little more research that night on the computer on cradle cap.  He had had a little break out of cradle cap before but it always looked like dry skin not red and icky like it was this time.  After looking at some disgusting images of children with some serious cradle cap I came to the conclusion that that was probably what it was but still this morning we headed to see Dr Haynes to make sure.  Oliver was very ready for cereal again!! Sure enough Dr Haynes said it was just more cradle cap and not to worry unless it begins to look infected.  So we will keep using the shampoos and lotions and Ollie can finally get back to eating cereal with no worries!!  Oliver also weighed in at 14lbs!!

 Oliver and his new toy!!
This toy was going to be for church but as we soon found out it makes a little to much noise for church.

WOW is that really Ollie on his TUMMY!!
If you don't know my little Ollie absolutely hates being on his tummy...he freaks out and goes into newborn mode!! This was a very rare moment of victory!!  Daddy was out of town for the day so we made sure to take pics and video for proof!!  YEAH OLLIE!!!

This is how i found him after his nap.  He has clothes on but he was trying so hard to wiggle out of his swaddle that he wiggled out of his shirt!! So darn cute!!

Oliver's Great Gram bought him some new shoes this weekend and he couldn't wait to show them off at church!
 Ready to hear the lesson!

Ollie visits the pumpkin patch!

Hooray for PUMPKINS!! Oliver and fam took a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out a spookie ( a baby pumpkin) and have a mini photo session.  Oliver got to wear his overalls for the first time...he was channeling his inner Tommy Jack!!  He was so adorable.  He loved looking at all the pumpkins and found the perfect one to bring home.  After the pumpkin patch we were off to Southfield Grill for some good eats.  Can't wait for Oliver's 1st Halloween!!!!

The Boogie Baby & Oliver's 1st spoonful!!

So today was the day that we finally decided to let Oliver try some cereal.  I wondered if he wouldn't like the texture or the weird feeling of the spoon in his mouth but of course he surprised us all and loved every bit of it.  He didn't even make any funny faces.  He just opened wide and gobbled it right up.  He is such a big boy!!  I can't believe how fast he is growing; before we know it he will be eating real food.

ALL GONE!!!!

This past Thursday we headed to the Revel again to see my dad play.  He was playing with The Back Porch Boogie Band which is the band he was playing with when I was born! WOW!  This was also Ollie's 1st time to see his grandpa in action.  We were a little worried that it would be too loud for him but he didn't mind the music and even took a little nap during it.  Ollie loved getting to hear his grandpa play and can't wait till the next time!!

Reveling, Couponing & Sunday Galavanting!

Its Revel time and this year it is even more special because it is Oliver's first experience of this Shreveport tradition.  We took Oliver late Saturday afternoon after I got off work (boo for work on Sat!!) and of course he loved it...well ok so he is too young to love it but he had fun.  We walked around to all the tents and watched some dancers while waiting for Wes to meet up with us to watch some football on the big screen.  Once Wes arrived it was time to eat.  Oliver had some good milk while Wes and I ate a yummy slice of muffaletta pizza and dad had some gumbo.  Unfortunately for Wes shortly after we ate and started watching the game Oliver ate again and was ready to go to bed in his own bed not a stroller.  So that was the end of our first night at the Revel this year but we can't wait to go back so Ollie can see his grandpa play the drums.  Oliver has a very special surprise outfit to wear so check back at the end of next week to see him rocking out!!

Ollie liked watching the dancers!

 Lil Jacob and Big Jacob;)

Today was a very busy day for the Doyles.  We got up and went to church and then Oliver went to visit his great gran and great aunt to show them how much he has grown!!

 Soo precious!!

When we finally made it home Jacob and I had decided to start using coupons!  So while Ollie was napping we began to research and it is hard work.  We decided to start small and Jacob headed to Rite Aid with some coupons and the paper.
